The Spirit Paper clay sculpture 37 x 37 x 18 cm June 2018
The sculpture demonstrates an image of a young boy who has tears in his eyes but stood cold with no emotion. There are cracks on his body representing wounds and scars. One must have thought he has just been in a fight. My idea is to depict children who suppress their emotions, hobbies, and likings to be good students or members of society. The colorful gown represents the favorites they have agreed to omit. Styles are inspired by Gerald Demetz and Francis Upritchard.
